On behalf of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim (NTNU) and the
International Federation of Psychotherapy (IFP), we want to invite to the 18 th World Congress of
Psychotherapy (WCP), to be held in Trondheim 14-18 August 2002. The Congress is designed to
challenge barriers and build bridges between clinicians and researchers, discuss different theoretical
perspectives and traditions, integrate pharmacotherapy with psychotherapy, and include similarities and
differences.
We are very proud of the state of the art content of the presentations and contributions on the congress.
Please check the program details on http://www.wcp2002.no. The quality and actuality of the 10 plenary
presentations, the 37 symposia and clinical workshops are exceptional. We believe there are state of the
art presentations which will give guidelines for current and future psychotherapy with both children and
adults.
Keynote presentations will deal with: evidence-based psychotherapy, child psychotherapy, which
treatment works for whom, outcome & therapist factors, long-term psychotherapy, clinical measurements,
psychotherapists training, psychotherapy process, and implications from neuroscience.
Symposia and workshops will (among others) address psychotherapy and schizophrenia,
pharmacotherapy, general psychiatry, conduct disorders, child and adolescent psychiatry, day-hospital,
dual diagnoses, dynamic/ cognitive/ interpersonal/group approaches.
There is also an interesting program of cultural and social events.
